PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing method for precisely detecting a breaking position to accurately control a tensile test, and a testing apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: One of two chucks 11 supports one end of a subject M and the other one of them supports the other end of the subject M. A movable stand 12 moves the upper side chuck 11 upwardly to apply a tension to the subject M. When a moving stand 16 moves parallelly up and down along a guide rail 15, the video camera 3 in the moving stand 16 also moves so as to follow the moving stand 16. A guide rail control part 37 operates the guide rail 15 on the basis of the moving speed onto the upper side chuck 11 so as to turn the video camera 3 to the region in the vicinity of the breaking position of the subject M to control the vido camera 3.
