PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water quality analyzer not requiring the re-adjustment and replacement of an oxidizing agent over a long period of time. SOLUTION: Sample water and a sulfuric acid acidic potassium peroxodisulfate solution 3 are sucked in a microsyringe 22 and the mixed liquid of them is transferred into a reaction tank 51 of an oxidizing reaction part 5. A phosphorus compound in sample water is decomposed by oxidation to orthophosphoric acid by the irradiation with ultraviolet rays under heating. The sample water decomposed by oxidation, NaOH 10, an ammonium molybdate solution 8 and an L-ascorbic acid solution 9 are sucked in the microsyringe 22 and the sample water after color forming reaction is transferred to a measuring cell 61 while the absorbance of orthophosphoric acid at a wavelength of 880 nm is measured to calculate the concentration of TP.
