PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat resistant near-infrared absorbing pigment. SOLUTION: The heat resistant near-infrared absorbing pigment consists of the paired ion bonded body of a substituted benzenedithiol metal complex anion as expressed by general formula (1) and a diimonium cation expressed by general formula (2). In general formula (1), R1and R2are each a 1-6C alkyl group, a 1-8C alkylamino group, an optionally substituted morpholino group, an optionally substituted piperidino group, an optionally substituted pyrrolidino group, an optionally substituted thiomorpholino group, an optionally substituted piperazino group or an optionally substituted phenyl group and M is a transition metal atom.
