PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for drying an N-substituted (meth)acrylamide by which product loss by sublimation of the N-substituted (meth)acrylamide can be minimized and a high-quality product can be obtained without causing discoloration. SOLUTION: Wet powder of the N-substituted (meth)acrylamide is dried. In the process, the method for drying the N-substituted (meth)acrylamide is characterized in that the thermal history represented by formula (1) [wherein, t denotes time (h); T(t) denotes the temperature (°C) of the material surface at the time t; t<SB>0</SB>denotes the time (h) at the beginning of the falling drying rate period; t<SB>E</SB>is the time (h) when completing drying; and H denotes the thermal history (°C×h)] is within the range of 2-60°C×h in a falling drying rate period.
