PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber sheet with reduced unevenness of pore size, inexpensively producible by subjecting the fiber sheet to a hydrophilic treatment, imparting moisture to whole of the fiber surface and then subjecting to a moist heat-treatment. SOLUTION: The fiber sheet containing a heat and moisture gelling resin is produced by heating in the presence of moisture in the following steps A, B and C. Wherein the step A carries out a hydrophilic treatment to fibers and the moist heat gelling resin that compose the fiber sheet, in the step B moisture is supplied to the hydrophilic fiber sheet containing hydrophilic treated fibers and moist heat gelling resin, and in the step C the water containing sheet is subjected to a heat and moist treatment at the temperature higher than the gelling temperature of the moist heat gelling resin and 20°C lower than the melting point of the resin, to allow the moist heat gelling resin to gel and fixes fibers by the gelled moist heat gelling resin.
