发明名称 CALCIUM TITANATE COMPOSITE POLYCRYSTALLINE FIBER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcium titanate composite polycrystalline fiber useful as a filler or the like for a resin composition, a ceramic composition or the like and having excellent strength, heat resistance, wear resistance or the like, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The composite polycrystalline fiber is composed of a calcium titanate crystal grains and a titania crystal grains and is a plate like polycrystalline fiber having an (average fiber length)/(average fiber width) ratio of 3 to 7. The incorporation ratio (molar ratio) of the titania crystal in the composite polycrystalline fiber is preferably 0.01 to 0.40. The composite polycrystalline fiber is manufactured by using a mixture of TiO<SB>2</SB>and K<SB>2</SB>O of a prescribed mixing ratio as a starting raw material, carrying out steps of the heat melting, cooling solidification, and acid treatment of the solidified material to obtain a plate like hydrated titanate fiber, mixing the fiber with a prescribed quantity of CaO and a flux component and firing the mixture. The bonding of the calcium titanate crystals and the titania crystals deposited and produced by the firing reaction is very strong.
