PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively manufacture plywood adapted to a dwelling without applying hot pressing. SOLUTION: The plywood P is constituted so that the adhesive layer G of the plywood P adapted to the dwelling 100 contains no formaldehyde. The adhesive layer G is formed by coating the surface S of veneer V with a treatment agent (a) to dry the coated veneer V and coating the surface-coated veneer with an adhesive (b). The treatment agent (a) is an aqueous solution of glycoxal and hexamethylenetetramine, and the adhesive (b) contains an imide compound, which is prepared by imidating an isobutylene/maleic anhydride copolymer, and a carboxy modified styrene/butadiene latex. The imide compound is cured at normal temperature in the presence of glyoxal. Therefore, hot pressing can be avoided from a manufacturing process for the plywood P. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
