PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slidable sandwiching tool for quickly moving a movable sandwiching piece responding to the change in thickness of a fixed support, and causing no looseness even in long-term use. SOLUTION: This slidable sandwiching tool 36 supports an article by sandwiching the fixed support by a fixed sandwiching piece 38 and the movable sandwiching piece 40 capable of separating/ contacting to this fixed sandwiching piece 38. The fixed sandwiching piece 38 has a columnar body 42 having a plurality of notches 52 in the longitudinal direction, and comprises a lock means 47 supported so as to be capable of separating/contacting to the fixed sandwiching piece 38 by moving the movable sandwiching piece 40 along the columnar body 42 and checking the movement of this movable sandwiching piece 40 by engaging with an optional notch 52 so that the slidable sandwiching tool 36 can be installed by quickly coping with a change in thickness of the fixed support such as a table.
