PURPOSE: A microwave oven is provided to clean the heating chamber easily by forming the arc rear corner in the heating chamber, to reflect microwave actively by forming the arc and linear portions, and to heat food evenly and variously by installing the heater on the top of the heating chamber. CONSTITUTION: A heating chamber of a microwave oven is composed of both linear sides(112,114), a partially linear rear part(116), and round corner parts(118) connecting the both linear sides to the partially linear rear part. A heater(130) is installed on the upper part of the heating chamber, and the arc corner part is formed with the specific radius of curvature. Food is heated by microwave from a magnetron installed in the electric component chamber and heat from the heater. The upper part of the heater is covered by a reflecting plate(132) to reflect heat from the heater into the heating chamber. The upper part of the heater is opened or formed of metal mesh to actively transfer heat from the heater into the heating chamber.
