PHASE ERROR CONTROL SYSTEM FOR RECEIVER OF SMART ANTENNA SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A phase error control system for receiver of smart antenna system is provided to form an accurate beam to minimize the phase error of the RF receiver. CONSTITUTION: A phase error control system comprises a pilot signal providing unit for providing a reference signal for detecting the phases of each main RF receiving signal received through a plurality of antenna elements; a plurality of first coupling units(11A,...,11N) for adding the pilot signal inputted from the pilot signal providing unit to the main RF receiving signals; a signal process unit(12A,...,12N) for processing the receiving signals through a frequency down conversion; a plurality of second coupling units(13A,...,13N) for drawing out the phase information from the output signals; a control unit for controlling the signal processing unit by detecting the variation of the phase; and a filter unit(14A,...,14N) for removing the pilot signal from the receiving signals on signal paths.
