PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording and reproducing apparatus whereby titles of recorded contents and information with respect to the titles are referenced even at a visit place. SOLUTION: The video recording and reproducing apparatus is provided with: a means 24 for receiving a first request to acquire a list of the titles of the contents stored in a medium 6 via a network; a means 21 for acquiring information representing the list of the titles of the contents corresponding to the received first request; and a means 24 for transmitting the information denoting the acquired list of the titles via the network.
