PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic liquid penetrant inspection method of a steel plate capable of preventing liquid drop of wash water or penetrant, heightening efficiency of a drying process, and preventing clogging of a developer nozzle. SOLUTION: A pipe 14 close to a nozzle, deformed spirally in the vertical direction is used as a washing nozzle 6 for automatic liquid penetrant inspection of the steel plate, and droplets on the nozzle tip are blown off by air blow from an air pipe 17 when washing is finished, to thereby prevent drop from the washing nozzle 6. In order to prevent drop of residual liquid from a penetrant nozzle, air blow inside the nozzle is performed at the waiting position after application of the penetrant. In order to prevent clogging of the penetrant nozzle, water replacement inside the nozzle is performed at the waiting position after application of the developer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
