PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a drug related to deficiency of surface activation agent of lungs. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the drug includes the steps of quantitatively measuring a specimen from a patient for at least one kind from among proteins SP-A, SP-B, SP-C, and SP-D; measuring whether one kind of proteins from among the analyzed proteins SP-A, SP-B, SP-C and SP-D is deficient and determining whether this is true; measuring a clinically effective amount of a substitute material for the analyzed proteins SP-A, SP-B, SP-C, and SP-D; and manufacturing the drug which contains the substitute material of the clinically effective amount.
