PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly eliminate the noise generated by discharging water used as sealing water onto the water surface of storage water. SOLUTION: This pump apparatus, equipped with a vacuum pump 1, a water tank 2 for storing the water for supplying sealing water to the vacuum pump 1, and a discharging pipe 32 for discharging the water used as sealing water from the vacuum pump 1, comprises a container 4 which is open to the storage water side and drops the water discharged from the discharging pipe 32 onto the water surface of the storage water. The discharging pipe 32 is connected in such a direction that the water discharged from the discharging pipe 32 to the container 4 revolves along the inner surface of the container 4.
