PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cargo work vehicle such as a fork-lift and the like from dropping off a platform or striking against a hindrance item. SOLUTION: Guide wires 5a, 5b acting as two detectors having different distances from a running dangerous location 2 are mounted at a road surface near the running dangerous location 2 for a fork-lift 1 and in turn a vehicle body 6 of the fork-lift 1 is provided with a sensor 20 acting as a sensing means for use in sensing each of items 5a, 5b to be detected, and a controller 28 for performing a controlling operation in response to a detected output of the sensor 20. The controller 28 performs a controlling operation for generating an alarm when the sensor 20 detects the first guide wire 5a placed at a position far from the dangerous location 2 and further performs a controlling operation for stopping a vehicle body when the sensor 20 detects the second guide wire 5b placed at a position nearer to the dangerous location 2 than the first guide wire 5a.
