PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling planting apparatus taking the seedling for one stock with a planting claw from the lower end of a seedling table holding continuing seedlings and laterally reciprocating at a specific stroke and planting the taken seedling, enabling the lateral reciprocating motion by smoothly changing the moving direction of the seedling table with small impact and eliminating the decrease of the amount of taken seedlings and the generation of vacant hill at the end of lateral stroking motion. SOLUTION: A means for the lateral transfer of the seedling table 6 performs the reciprocating motion of the table at a lateral motion stroke L smaller than the lateral motion stroke necessary for the relative lateral transfer of the planting claw 7a over the whole width of the seedling placing part (a) for seedlings of one row on the seedling table 6.
