<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time to be required to raise the temperature of a catalyst of a CO transformer of a fuel reforming device to a reaction temperature when starting a solid high polymer type fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of rasing the temperature of the catalyst by leading the reforming gas, which is generated by reforming the raw fuel with the steam in a reformer, into the CO transformer when starting the solid high polymer type fuel cell system, when the catalyst temperature of the CO transformer exists in a low-temperature range, low s/c operation is performed in the reformer to raise the temperature with the reforming gas containing a small quantity of steam, and when the catalyst temperature of the CO transformer reaches the predetermined temperature range, operation of the reformer is switched to the high s/c operation to raise the temperature by using the reformed gas containing a large quantity of the steam, and the high s/c operation is continued to the reaction temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
