<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell with a gas diffused layer for realizing an excellent function. <P>SOLUTION: In a fuel cell provided with an electrolyte film and a first electrode and a second electrode provided in the electrolyte film, a coil state or a spiral state carbon fibers in which one or a plurality of pieces of carbon fiber(s) is (are) wound with carbon fibers are formed into a woven state, an unwoven state or a paper state in the gas diffused layer, are provided in at least one of the first electrode or the second electrode. Due to the existence of the carbon fibers facing the direction of thickness of the gas diffused layer, an electrically conductive path is formed directly in the direction of the thickness by the carbon fibers and the electrical conductivity in the direction of thickness of the gas diffused layer is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
