<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a memory card during access from being erroneously taken out. <P>SOLUTION: A digital still camera is provided with a card slot into which the memory card is inserted, a protection cover for covering the card slot, a cover detection switch for detecting the opening/closing state of the protection cover, and an actuator for locking the protection cover. In a photographing mode, the actuator is driven and the protection cover is locked when a shutter is operated in a state where the protection cover is closed. Since the actuator disables opening of the protection cover while picture data are being written into the memory card, the memory card is prevented from being taken out during access to the memory card. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
