<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear view mirror to effectively display intended contents to the outside of a vehicle and allow the display contents to be freely changed. <P>SOLUTION: The rear view mirror is provided with a luminescence display part arranged to be visually recognized from the outside of the vehicle, a storage part storing the contents to be displayed on the luminescence display part, and a light emission control part reading the contents out of the storage part and controlling light emitting operation of the luminescence display part on a back of a mirror surface of the rear view mirror. The light emission control part usually allows to display as "Sensor In Operation" during parking, but when receiving abnormality information from a crime prevention sensor or the like, the light emission control part starts light emission control of the luminescence display part to display as "Abnormality Detected! Now Reporting."
