PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand an extent of an operation region (pump head) of a pumping system. SOLUTION: A flow control circuit 11 is provided to a storage pump arranged to a lifting pipe 10. The flow control circuit 11 is formed of a first water filling line 16 and a second water filling line 17. In the first water filling line 16, a first flow control valve 22 and a first orifice 25 are provided. In the second water filling line 17, a second flow control valve 24 and a second orifice 25 are provided. An opening operation of the first flow control valve 22 is delayed in time with respect to that of the second flow control valve 24. The storage pump 1 performs pumping to a first level in accordance with the opening operation of the first flow control valve 22, and performs pumping to a second level in accordance with the opening operation of the second flow control valve 24. Using force of water pumped in a first water filling as it is, water pumped to the first level in the first water filling can be pumped to the second level. In each of the first water filling and the second water filling, the pump can be operated near maximum efficiency, and the operation region can be expanded. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
