PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a printing machine to be used as a peripheral machine of a computer compact and flat, and to make it possible to place either one or both in parallel with the computer and a display unit on the printing machine. SOLUTION: A paper storage part 9 and a paper discharging part 22 are provided while being stacked in the vertical direction in an external box 1 forming a flat and laterally long approximately rectangular parallelepiped. Paper sheets are replenished in the paper storage part 9 provided on the bottom surface 4 from a paper feeding port 8 of the external box 1. The paper sheet 10 which is fed in the length direction by a paper feeding unit 11 from the paper storage part 9 is guided by a roller or a guide or the like on the internal side of one end surface 6 of the external box 1. Then, the paper sheet 10 is printed by a printing unit 17 on the way to the paper discharging part 22 which is provided at the upper part of the external box 1. After the printing, the paper sheet 10 which has reached the paper discharging part 22 is discharged to the outside through a paper discharging port 25 of the external box 1 for the constitution of this printing machine.
