PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of manufacturing an electromagnetic shield material of high quality. SOLUTION: A carbide, having electromagetic shield function, is attained through a cutting process to cut an animal protein fiber, such as silk fiber and wool fiber, into a predetermined size, a thermal decomposition process to heat the cut fiber by an overheated-vapor type thermal decomposition apparatus to produce carbide, and a sintering process to heat-sinter the carbide produced in the thermal decomposition process, in a vacuum furnance of a high-vacuum level. The carbide can be grinded in a predetermined grain size and can be used as a paint, having the electromagnetic shield function by mixing with a solvent, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
