PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic cooking device and an automatic cooking method convenient for a user and capable of automatically cooking common millet to obtain the consistently optimum common millet cooking quality. SOLUTION: The automatic cooking device includes a cooking chamber to store stuff to be cooked and a heater to heat the stuff. A control unit heats the stuff with the preset initial output of the heater, and when the stuff is boiled, the output of the heater is primarily reduced so that high-temperature water is absorbed in the stuff, and a surface portion of the stuff is cooked. Then, the output of the heater is secondarily reduced, and the inside of the stuff is cooked by the high-temperature water absorbed in the stuff. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
