PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element for reliably fixing a rod and performing compact design. SOLUTION: An element having a shaft (1) and holding elements (3 and 30) connected thereto is provided to connect a rod (100). The holding elements include a recess of a U-shaped section to store the rod, and have two free legs (7, 8; 32, 33) including inner screw grooves (9 and 34) on one end. Closing elements (20 and 36) are provided to fix the rod inserted in the recess of the U-shaped section, and have outer screw grooves in cooperation with inner screw grooves. A fixing portion is provided on or in the holding elements to limit the inclination of the closing elements around the rod when finally tightening the closing elements. As a result, the small thickness of a wall of an accommodating member is maintained irrespective of a large force applied when the closing elements are finally tightened.
