PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool water in a water tank located just below a slag discharge part in an ash melting furnace. SOLUTION: A cooling water jetting nozzle is fitted into a slag discharge tube. The temperature of water in the slag discharge tube is prevented from rising by leading cooling water into the slag discharge tube. By this, the water in the water tank in the slag discharge tube can be prevented from being boiled due to the rise of the water and the temperature at the slag discharge tube and the slag discharge port from being lowered by evaporated water. Also, the water tank for producing granulated slag by cooling molten slag can be reduced in size. In addition, in the ash melting furnace using this invention, coal ash with high melting point and a large amount of ash can be melted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
