CONTROLLER OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE HAVING ADJUSTABLE VALVE TRAIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a technique which controls superfluous generation of heat of a motor in an internal combustion engine having an adjustable valve train using the motor. SOLUTION: When driving the engine 100 which adjusts the valve train property by making use of an actuator 220 equipped with the motor 221, overheat judgement about the motor 221 is read first (step S200). Whether the motor 221 is in the overheated condition or not is judged based on the value of current flowing to the motor 221 in a predetermined period of time. When it is judged that the motor 221 is in the overheated condition, the valve train property is fixed to a predetermined state (step S220), and throttle control corresponding to the driving mode is performed (step S230). When it is judged that the motor 221 is not in the overheated condition, normal control accompanied by adjustment of the valve train property is performed (step S240). COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
