PURPOSE: A styrene-butadiene-based latex composition, its preparation method, a paper coating composition containing the latex composition and a paper prepared by coating the coating composition are provided, to improve fluidity, printing properties, mechanical stability and polymerization stability. CONSTITUTION: The styrene-butadiene-based latex composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a monomer which comprises 5-55 parts by weight of 1,3-butadiene, 40-94 parts by weight of styrene and 1-15 parts by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer; and 0.01-15 parts by weight of an ammonium polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl propenyl ether sulfate salt. Preferably the polymerization degree of oxyethylene unit of the ammonium polyoxyethylene alkylphenyl propenyl ether sulfate salt is 1-40. The obtained styrene-butadiene-based latex particle has a glass transition temperature of -10 to 100 deg.C, an average diameter of 30-300 nm and a gel content of 25-95 %. |
