PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for generating a programmable driving signal of a display panel are provided to reduce the cycle of the circuit design and the area of the circuit by generating the driving signal with editing the data stored at the memory. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for generating a programmable driving signal of a display panel includes a memory(702), a decoder(703) and an output waveform generation circuit(704). The memory(702) stores the information related to the generation of the plurality of driving signals required to the driving of the display panel. The decoder(703) edits and reads the information stored at the assigned address in response to a predetermined control sequence from the memory(702). And, the output waveform generation circuit(704) generates a driving signal waveform corresponding to the information read from the decoder(703).
