PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift register in which malfunction of a circuit caused by non-reset of a flip-flop can be prevented, and a display device provided with it.

SOLUTION: A shift register is provided with the flip-flop comprising a plurality of stages. Reset of flip-flop Fn of the last stage and reset of the flip-flop Fn-1 of the preceding stage are performed by inputting an output signal from the flip-flop Fn to the flip-flop Fn-1 and the flip-flop Fn. A wiring connecting an output terminal Q of an output signal in the flip-flop Fn and an input terminal R of an output signal in the flip-flop Fn is provided with a delay circuit 10 delaying input of the output signal for the input terminal R. Reset of the flip-flop Fn is performed at the same time resetting the preceding stage flip-flop Fn-1 or performed after that.
