PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep alignment accuracy and a uniform gap to some extent between substrates by rough alignment and to suppress decrease in a voltage holding rate in a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device by using a dripping injection method by dripping a liquid crystal onto a first transparent substrate in a reduced pressure atmosphere and superposing the other transparent substrate thereon to seal the liquid crystal. SOLUTION: The method includes the processes of: forming an annular bulge of a UV-curing adhesive material 2 in the region outside the display region on one of a pair of transparent substrates 1, 4; irradiating the adhesive material 2 with UV rays to change the irradiated region 2A into a half-cured state so as to prevent contact between the unhardened adhesive material 2 and a liquid crystal 3; dripping the liquid crystal 3 onto the center region on one of the pair of transparent substrates 1, 4; superposing the pair of transparent substrates 1, 4 under reduced pressure and then returning the pressure to atmospheric pressure to seal the gap surrounded by the adhesive material 2 between the pair of transparent substrate 1, 4 with the adhesive material 2; and aligning the corresponding positions of the pair of transparent substrates 1, 4 and then irradiating the entire adhesive material 2 with UV rays of higher intensity than the UV rays to cure the adhesive.
