PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controller for a control rod drive mechanism which prevents the time lag of action orders through the unitary control over the action orders and bank selection signals of control rod groups. SOLUTION: The controller for the control rod drive mechanism used to insert or pull out control rods used to control the thermal output of a reactor and shut down it inside it is equipped with a driving order determining logic circuit which determines the driving orders of the control rod groups in the same bank on the basis of an action instructing cumulative count value for each control rod bank group in response to the insertion or pulling-out of the control rods.
