PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock mechanism for an extendable device preventing an extended/contracted table from being protruded in a hand cart having a table extendable mechanism. SOLUTION: The extension/contraction driving mechanism 20 of the extendable device with a shuttle fork extended/contracted by an extendable handle 8 operated manually has the lock mechanism 40 consisting of a ratchet wheel 41 provided in the handle shaft 21 and a stopper claw 42 provided in a frame side. The handle 8 is fitted to the shaft 21 to be extendable within a prescribed range, and it is rotated while being drawn to extend/contract the fork, and pushed forward so that the wheel 41 is engaged with the claw 42.
