PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of preventing sideways leakage of excretion liquid such as urine without deteriorating the excretion liquid permeability, and giving no uncomfortable feeling to a user. SOLUTION: The absorbent article consists of a surface structure with a liquid-permeable top sheet located on the liquid receiving side, an impermeable back sheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the surface structure and the back sheet. In the absorbent article, recess parts and projection parts, extending in the longitudinal direction, are alternately formed in the cross direction on the top sheet, and the interval between the adjacent projection parts is longer than the height of the projection part.
