PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-propelled cleaner that can perform normal cleaning and wiping cleaning, remove a sensation of dustiness after cleaning and restrain a consumption of dry cells. SOLUTION: The self-propelled cleaner has a cleaner body 1, an electric blower 3, a suction brush 4 provided in the lower portion of the cleaner body 1 and a driving electric motor 9 for traveling. The suction brush 4 is provided with a hair brush 6 provided in the rear of an opening 16. When performing the wiping cleaning, the cleaner collects dust in the front of the hair brush 6 by making the cleaner body 1 travel without rotating the electric blower 3, after stopping the traveling of the cleaner body 1 after a predetermined period has elapsed and withdrawing by a prescribed distance.
