PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel provided with a magnetic encoder capable of easily discriminating if an end part is outer or inner side when it is fitted to a knuckle to prevent fitting error. SOLUTION: A plurality of rolling elements 3 are provided between rolling surfaces 2a and 1a of an outer member 2 and an inner member 1. Both end parts of a circular space between the outer member 2 and the inner member 1 are respectively sealed with a pair of seal devices 5 and 13. On one seal device 5, the magnetic encoder 10 comprising magnetic poles arranged in a circumferential direction is provided. A bearing outside surface of the seal device 5 composed of the magnetic encoder 10 is colored black, and a side surface of the other seal device 13 is colored in other color than black.
