PURPOSE: A grasping device for a thin plate material is provided to insert a thin plate material into a grasping part even when the thickness of the material is greater or smaller than a predetermined thickness. CONSTITUTION: A grasping device includes a grasping part(2a,3a), a chamber extended from the grasping part, a chamber opening(4d), a hole(2d,3d), a packing member, a guide(6), and an elastic member(7). The grasping part grasps an edge portion of a thin plate material(10) in a thickness direction. The chamber opening sucks air into the chamber. The hole surrounds the chamber and is extended from the grasping part. The packing member is capable of transferring the chamber in the thickness direction of the thin plate material. The guide is disposed in the chamber and transfers the grasping part horizontally by the air from the chamber opening. The elastic member transfers the grasping part vertically.
