<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an engagement portion of a pressing member and make the compact container thinner. <P>SOLUTION: The compact container has a container body storing a cosmetic and a lid openably mounted to the container body in a hinge portion wherein the pressing member of the container body that pushes up the lid to an engagement recess located at the end opposite to the hinge portion is slidably mounted. The pressing member has the shape of a plate and has an engagement portion regulating the range of slide of the engagement recess and preventing a fall from the engagement recess and a pressing portion pushing up the lid are arranged in parallel in the horizontal direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
