<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve print quality by making toner permeability and toner fixation satisfactory with respect to printing paper when coated paper on the surface of which a film is formed of a coating material is used as the printing paper for printing. <P>SOLUTION: The printer comprises: a means (12) for transporting the printing paper; a printing section (18); a processing section (25) which is disposed on the upstream side of the printing section in the direction of printing paper transport and perforates, on the surface of the printing paper, minute, countless pores that are not penetrating through paper; a switching means (30) for switching drive of the processing section between ON and OFF positions; a recognizing means for recognizing a printing pattern in advance; and a processing control means for controlling the switching means in accordance with a printing pattern recognized by the recognizing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
