PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent and a method for measuring anion requirement for various suspension systems or sludge containing salts. SOLUTION: The invention is characterized by allowing an anionic polymer per se to have properties as an indicator by visible light labeling. Further, it is characterized in that an aqueous solution of the polymer is added to a suspension or sludge for adsorption, and based on the amount of the labeled polymer, that is measuring agent, required until the starting point when a visible light is observed from a supernatant or a filtrate, the concentration thereof, and the amount of the sample (suspension or sludge), the anion requirement for the sample is obtained.
