LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to reduce a power consumption and use a display region efficiently. CONSTITUTION: The LCD comprises a display region(Ds) for displaying an image and a peripheral region(Pr) adjacent to the display region(Ds). At the display region(Ds), a plurality of pixels are formed as a matrix type. Each pixel comprises a gate line(GL) extended toward the first direction, a data line(DL) extended toward the second line and crossed with the first direction, a TFT(110) connected to the gate line(GL) and the data line(DL). A pixel electrode(120) is combined with the TFT(110). The display region(DS) is divided into the first and second display regions(Ds1,Ds2) which are operated alternately. A gate driving unit(130) for applying a gate driving signal to 2n gate lines(GL1-GL2n) and a source driving unit(140) for applying an image signal to 2m data lines(DL1-DL2m) are arranged to the peripheral region(Pr).
