PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rib cutter which can neatly cut a rail-like rib of an aluminum sash with a small labor and without causing much dust. SOLUTION: The rib cutter for cutting a long rib R sticking out of an object S whose rib is to be cut includes a fulcrum member 2 which can be in contact with one of side faces of the rib R and a power point member 3 which can be in contact with the other side face. It also includes a rotation force applying means 9 for applying the force to the member 3 to rotate around the member 2. While the rotation force is applied to the power point member 3 by the rotation force applying means 9, the fulcrum member 2 and the member 3 are moved along the longitudinal direction of the rib R to cut the rib R by shearing force caused by the rotation force of the member 3.
