PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discriminating device and method, capable of surely discriminating other moving bodies and other objects, a robot device and a color extracting device capable of accurately extracting a desirable color. SOLUTION: A different color pattern discriminating body is provided in an object, and the color pattern is detected by image processing for discrimination. A different color pattern is given to each of the objects, and the color pattern is detected by image processing to detect position thereof. Luminance level and color difference level per each of picture elements are detected in order, and color is extracted by determining whether the color difference level is within the predetermined range or not.
