PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panoramic image photographing system capable of shortening the photographing and transmitting time of panoramic images. SOLUTION: The panoramic image photographing system comprises: a photographing means for photographing a plurality of images by using an attitude controllable camera A; a server B for compositing the panoramic image from the images photographed by the photographing means and generating the panoramic image; a transmission means for transmitting the panoramic image generated by the server B through a network C; a monitor 110 for receiving and displaying the panoramic image transmitted by the transmission means; a setting means for setting an updating frequency and a resolution for each area of the panoramic image from a panoramic image reception side; and an area setting means for setting the area of an optional position and size.
