PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for a fine surface treatment maintaining property of a surface state even after surface reforming without using any special substrate. SOLUTION: This optical surface treating method is characterized in that the surface of a substrate (B) to be treated is brought into contact with the surface of a substrate (A) having a photocatalysis layer on the surface and the substrate (B) is irradiated with a light beam from its reverse surface.
