PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the as-grown single crystal of calcium fluoride having a large diameter and small birefringence manufactured by a single crystal pulling method (Czochralski method). SOLUTION: The as-grown single crystal of calcium fluoride is manufactured by a single crystal pulling method and has≥17 cm diameter in the cylindrical body, preferably≥50 mm length of the cylindrical body and≤3 nm/cm birefringence, preferably 0.1 to 2.0 nm/cm, and more preferably, it has≤2.0 nm/cm standard deviation of the birefringence.
