PURPOSE: A method for converting local call receiving/transmitting functions in a VoIP gateway is provided to connect a call between an exchange of a local network and a VoIP gateway, thereby receiving/transmitting the call from the local network by a user connected to a VoIP gateway system and supplying a simple exchange function. CONSTITUTION: If a telephone 1 connected to a local network exchange wants to transmit a call, the local network exchange receives the call(S301). The local network exchange informs a VoIP gateway that the call is received with receiver information(S302). The VoIP gateway connects the call with a telephone 2 by using a VoIP through an Internet network(S303). The call is connected between the VoIP gateway and the local network exchange(S304). The call is made between the telephone 1 and the telephone 2(S305).
