PURPOSE: An aging apparatus for a flat type field emission display and an aging method thereof are provided to remove contaminants by exhausting contaminants to the outside through a vacuum pump and to separate contaminants by applying a high voltage toward an anode. CONSTITUTION: A flat field emission device comprises an anode(5) arranged at a top part of vacuum territory maintaining a high vacuum by a vacuum pump, a cathode arranged at a bottom part(1) and having a scan electrode(2) and a data electrode(4). A contaminant exclusion method comprises a pre aging step of exhausting residual contaminants at the anode and the cathode by applying a high voltage to the anode, a main aging step of, after achieving the pre aging step, exhausting contaminants to the outside by applying an aging voltage to the scan electrode and the data electrode and by applying a high voltage to the anode, and a step of a sealing a vacuum territory inwhere the contaminants are removed.
