<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical rotary type input device whose sphere can be given a sense of click in a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: This rotary type input device is provided with a rotator having the degree of freedom of rotation to a predetermined direction and a converting means for converting the direction of rotation and the volume of rotation of the rotator into the amount of movement in an orthogonal X axial direction and/or Y axial direction. The converting means is constituted of an infection surface formed at the rotator, a pressurizing means constituted of a piezoelectric elastic body abutted on the infection surface for pressurizing the rotator, and for generating a power corresponding to the infection surface shape and a detecting means for detecting the direction of rotation and the volume of rotation of the rotator from the power generated by the pressurizing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
