PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a vehicle having a pair of banks and an engine controlled by a pair of engine controllers to be smoothly transferred to an economy running mode without imparting discomfort feeling to a driver. SOLUTION: When economy running transfer conditions are satisfied to output an "engine stop" command from an economy running ECU 40 in an economy running control system, both engines ECUs 10, 20 confirm that the economy running transfer conditions are satisfied via a communication and then transfer to the economy running modes. Thus, since the engine stop controls (fuel injection stops) of both the engine ECUs 10 and 20 are substantially simultaneously performed, a stable stop control which is unified as the vehicle can be performed, and smooth economy running control can be realized without making a driver feel uncomfortableness or discomfort.
